Event Coordination & Support

Seamless Planning, Start To Finish
Planning a wedding, corporate gathering, or large-scale celebration comes with details — timelines, layouts, rentals, vendor coordination, and more. At Timmer’s, you’re not navigating that alone.
Our Event Coordinator works closely with you to understand your vision, recommend the best space for your guest count, and help shape a plan that flows naturally throughout the property. From ceremony setup and reception transitions to rain plans and layout design, we help ensure everything feels effortless.
We regularly coordinate with photographers, florists, officiants, DJs, rental providers, and corporate planners. While you’re welcome to choose your own vendors, we’re happy to share recommendations and ensure every moving part aligns with your timeline.
Your vision, supported by a team that knows this property inside and out.

Event Planning FAQS

Everything You Need To Know

Getting Started & Pricing
How do I get started?
The best and most efficient way to begin is by filling out this Event Inquiry Form. This allows our event staff to review your date, guest count, budget range, and space preferences right away so we can respond with accurate information.
You are also welcome to contact us directly at (262) 338-7710 or events@timmersresort.com, but submitting the form first helps us move the process forward more quickly.
How does the booking process work?
Once your inquiry form is submitted, an event staff member will review your requested date and contact you to confirm availability and discuss your vision. We'll go over pricing based on guest count, season, and space selection, along with food and beverage options, rental needs, and overall event flow.
After details are finalized, a formal quote will be sent electronically. Once signed and the deposit is received, your date is officially secured.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required once the contract is signed to secure your event date. The remaining balance is due on or before your event date. Payments can be made via credit card, check, or ACH, and installment payments can be arranged leading up to the event if preferred.
Are certain months less expensive?
Yes. May through September is considered peak season. October through April typically offers lower venue pricing. Final pricing depends on guest count, selected space, and overall event scope.
What is the pricing range?
Pricing varies based on guest count, season, space selection, and catering style. Events at Timmer's can range from approximately $2,500 for smaller gatherings to $30,000+ for larger weddings or full property buyouts. A detailed quote is provided after reviewing your inquiry.
Spaces & Venue
Which spaces work best for different wedding sizes?
Under 35 guests: Ceremonies are often held on Bocce Lawn, in The Main Dining Room, or in Beryl's Parlor, with receptions typically hosted in the Parlor.
35–70 guests: Ceremonies commonly take place in the Main Dining Room or on Bocce Lawn, with tented receptions on Bocce Lawn near the Tiki Bar.
75–125 guests: Lake Lawn is the most popular option for both ceremony and reception, offering expansive waterfront views and space for tented celebrations (while regular dinner service is running inside the restaurant).
Larger weddings: A full venue buyout is often the best option, providing exclusive access to the entire property for the day. Timmer's will not open up for regular dinner service. This allows for our staff to focus solely on your wedding.
Can I reserve the entire property?
Yes, this is an option based on the date and the restaurant's availability. What a buyout means is that our entire property (indoors and the lawn) is yours for your wedding date. We will be closed to the public that date with no regular dinner reservations allowed. Buyouts are a great option for medium to large weddings, so you have plenty of space, and our attention is focused on you all day.
Will it feel private if the restaurant is open during my event?
Yes, our guests are very respectful when they see that a wedding is going on. We keep you and your guests in your separate spot (such as a tent on the lawn) to give you privacy to enjoy your day.
We encourage guests that are having their ceremony and reception at Timmer's to have the ceremony before we open for dinner service at 4:00pm. By hosting your wedding ceremony around 2:00pm before we begin setting up at 3:00pm for dinner service, you will have the highest amount of privacy for the most intimate part of your wedding before other people are onsite.
We also encourage early afternoon ceremonies, as there are more options available for rain backup before set up at 3:00 for regular service.
Day-Of Logistics
Can I bring in my own food or drink?
No. As a full-service restaurant and venue, all food and beverage must be prepared and served by Timmer's Resort. The only exception is specialty cakes from a licensed bakery for weddings or milestone celebrations.
What time can my event start?
Start times are flexible depending on the day, season, and space reserved. Early afternoon ceremonies are common, especially for weddings. Our event staff will help determine the best timeline based on your plans and overall event flow.
How late can my event run?
Events conclude at 11:00pm. Last call for drinks is at 10:30pm, and all music must end by 11:00pm in accordance with the Big Cedar Lake noise ordinance.
Rentals, Vendors & Decor
How do rentals work – like for tents and wedding chairs?
Our event staff will review your rental needs with you and determine quantities based on your guest count, layout, and overall event vision. This may include items like tables, chairs, lighting, linens, staging, or other specialty items.
Once selections are finalized, our team coordinates directly with trusted rental partners to place and manage the order in advance of your event. Rental details are itemized and included in your event billing.
Timmer's oversees all rental logistics to ensure proper delivery, setup, and removal so everything runs smoothly alongside other scheduled events on the property.
Do you have preferred vendors?
We coordinate rentals directly with trusted rental partners. For florists, photographers, officiants, decorators, and other vendors, you are welcome to work with whomever you choose. If you need recommendations, our event staff can provide a list of vendors we've worked with previously.
Can I bring in my own decorations?Y
ou absolutely can, and we encourage you to bring decorations to make the space feel the way you want it. If you have any questions about if something is allowed or how to set something up, just ask.
The main items we cannot allow are:
• Fire activities
• Animals – unless it is a service animal
• Confetti
• Nailing or screwing decor into our walls
Can I set up decorations ahead of time?
Yes. Setup times are coordinated with our event staff based on your event date and the overall event schedule. We'll work with you to find a time that allows for smooth preparation.
