FAQ

Yes, Timmer’s has an Event Coordinator onsite. Her name is Allison, and she will work with you on each step of the Timmer’s process for weddings.

You can submit an inquiry on the “Host Your Event” tab of our website, or you can reach out to Allison directly using her contact information on this page.

Once you submit an inquiry, Allison will call you to let you know if your preferred date is available and ask you more about what you would like your special day to look like. She will go over Timmer’s pricing with you based on your group size and which of our spaces you would like to rent, and she will discuss budget and policies with you. Most importantly, this is the time for you two to get to know each other and get the fun rolling!
Once a date is picked, the formal quote will be sent to you by Allison via email. You will sign the quote electronically to make it a contract and then pay the deposit to finish the booking process.

Yes, once a contract is signed, you will need to pay the 25% deposit through our event system via credit card, check, or ACH.
The remainder of your balance is upon your event date. You can pay the rest upon the end of your event, or you can make payments in smaller pieces leading up to the event date if you prefer.

Yes, certain months are lower cost. May - September is peak, so October - April are the cheaper months to book your wedding at Timmer’s. Feel free to reach out and discuss what the pricing difference would be based on your group size.

No, outside food and drink is against Timmer’s policies as a restaurant. All food and drink must be made and served by Timmer’s.
The one exception is specialty cakes from a bakery. These are acceptable for weddings or special occasions.

Start times are fairly flexible. Early afternoon is most common. You can discuss with Allison to determine the best time based on your plans.

Weddings at Timmer’s end at 11:00pm. Last call for drinks is at 10:30, and all music (especially for outdoor tented weddings) must be turned off by 11:00pm. Timmer’s Resort needs to abide by the noise ordinance on Big Cedar Lake.

The pricing varies depending on which area at Timmer’s you choose to rent and at what time of year. Wedding size influences the price too. Wedding at Timmer’s can range from $4,000 for very small weddings to $30,000+. Contact our Event Coordinator for more details.

For very small weddings (under 35), the most common options are to have the ceremony on Bocce Lawn, in the Main Dining Room, or in the Parlor - and then have the reception in Timmer’s Parlor.
For small - mid size weddings (35 - 70), the most common option is to have the ceremony in the Main Dining Room or on Bocce Lawn and then have a tented reception on Bocce Lawn by our Tiki Bar.
For weddings 75 - 125, the most common option is to do a tented wedding on Lake Lawn that looks out toward the water. Both the ceremony and reception would be on Lake Lawn (while regular dinner service is running inside the restaurant).
For larger weddings, a buyout is typically the best option. A buyout means that no other guests besides you and your wedding guess will be onsite that day. Timmer’s will not open up for regular dinner service. This allows for our staff to focus solely on your wedding.

Yes, this is an option based on the date and the restaurant’s availability. What a buyout means is that our entire property (indoors and the lawn) is yours for your wedding date. We will be closed to the public that date with no regular dinner reservations allowed. Buyouts are a great option for medium to large weddings, so you have plenty of space, and our attention is focused on you all day.

Yes, our guests are very respectful when they see that a wedding is going on. We keep you and your guests in your separate spot (such as a tent on the lawn) to give you privacy to enjoy your day.
We encourage guests that are having their ceremony and reception at Timmer’s to have the ceremony before we open for dinner service at 4:00pm. By hosting your wedding ceremony around 2:00pm before we begin setting up at 3:00pm for dinner service, you will have the highest amount of privacy for the most intimate part of your wedding before other people are onsite.
We also encourage early afternoon ceremonies, as there are more options available for rain backup before set up at 3:00 for regular service.

Timmer’s Event Coordinator will discuss what you would like and in what quantities. We use Equipment Rentals in West Bend for our private events. You and Allison will pick out your tent, tables, chairs, lights, or whatever else you need, and then Allison will place the order with Equipment Rentals at least 3 months in advance of your event date. The itemized bill will be provided to the guest for payment on their event date.
Timmer’s handles all event rental orders to ensure that tents and other supplies are coming and going appropriately around each and every event scheduled on Timmer’s property.

No, except for our rentals with Equipment Rentals.
For all other vendors like flowers, photographer, officiant, decorators, etc., you may book with who you would like. If you are looking for suggestions, Allison can send you a list of vendors we have enjoyed working with over previous years.

You absolutely can, and we encourage you to bring decorations to make the space feel the way you want it. If you have any questions about if something is allowed or how to set something up, just ask.
The main items we cannot allow are:

  • Fire activities
  • Animals - unless it is a service animal
  • Confetti
  • Nailing or screwing decor into our walls

Yes, you and the Timmer’s Event Coordinator can plan a time that works around your schedule and the Timmer’s Events schedule to put up decorations ahead of your event.
